Cute Bunny Tut (PTU)

Cute Bunny (PTU)
(blink not included; link to tut on wiggle is included)

I wrote this tutorial using PSPX2 and Animation Shop3

I am using the awesome work of Elias Chatzoudis.  You must have a license to use his art and you can purchase his work at PTE

I am using a darling kit by Tamie, Cute Bunny and you can purchase it at Dreams n Digital

Template is one that I put together for this tag and you can get it here

I also made my first Sparkle Sheet and you can get it here

Mask used: MakeAMaskGrungeMF04Slow2010 was made by Sabine at Creative Misfits they have a lot of great masks there; you are going to want to scroll down until you get to the Grunge Masks Collection. You can find that page here

To learn how to make the tail wiggle, check out this tut by NaughtiAngel, Shake It Baby!

Plug ins used:
Xenofex 2 / Constellation
Eye Candy 4000 / Gradient Glow
Dsb flux / Bright Noise
Filter Unlimited 2.0
Xero / Porcelain & Radiance

Fonts used:
Swatch it
Aphrodite Pro

**c&p=Copy and Paste As New Layer

**When working with duplicate layers, I always refer to them as first, second, third…from the bottom up

Open Template and change your canvas to 1100x900 (I Know this one is especially large; I always start out big and work around my tube rather than sizing my tube down)  Select your background layer and fill in the remaining transparent area with white

Using your Manual Color Correction tool, change the Oval Background and the Circle Background to a color of your choice (I used white)

Frame3: resize 90% position in the center of the Oval above the “I love to nibble” layer.
Position your main tube over the frame.  Duplicate your main tube, apply Xero Radiance with the default settings, reduce opacity to 40% and merge down.  Duplicate your frame3 layer and arrange the layer above your tube layer. Erase most of the 2nd frame3 til you get down by the tail, butt, feet and legs.  Activate your tube layer, Select>All, Select>Float, Select>Defloat.  Activate your 2nd frame3 layer again and erase the remaining part of the frame that you do not want covering your tube.  Mine looked like this

Lock these 3 layers together.

Deco: mirror, resize 80%, position to right of design, arrange to just above your background layer, duplicate, flip

Deco2: resize 125%, Position to left of design and arrange layer down to just above your background layer.

You can merge your 3 deco layers together, as long as you know you have them where you want them (I kept mine separate until I was done), and then apply Gradient glow with these settings and this color #7ea44a

Activate your circle and, with your magic wand set to add, click on the transparent area.
Choose a paper from the kit (I used p10), c&p, hit delete on your keyboard.

Activate your Frame Background layer, using your magic wand, click on the transparent area.
Choose a paper from the kit (I used p4), c&p, move it over so that it covers your Frame Background and hit delete on the keyboard.

Activate your Oval layer and, using your Manual Color Correction tool, change to a color of your choice.  I used orange so that it was a strong contrast to the frame.  Apply Filter Unlimited 2.0: under the Navigator tab, choose Paper Textures from the column on the left and Japanese Paper from the column on the right,
set the Intensity to 90 and the Lightness to 79

Activate the “I love to nibble” text layer and change the Blend Mode to Soft Light, duplicate, set the opacity of the 2nd layer to your liking (I set mine at 50%). Activate the 1st text layer and merge down to paper, then merge down the 2nd text layer

Heart ribbon: c&p, mirror, resize 80%, position to liking.   Activate the layer below your heart ribbon, c&p a paper of your choice (I used p8), resize75% and position to your liking behind heart ribbon.  Activate your heart ribbon layer again and, with your magic wand, select all the areas within frame, expand your selection by 1(Selections>Modify>Expand), Selections>Invert. Activate your paper layer and hit Delete on your keyboard. (you may have to clean up the edges a little with your eraser tool at the top)

CU: c&p, mirror, resize 85%, position to liking with in the heart ribbon.  Activate your paper layer right below the CU and, with your Magic Wand, click on the transparent part of the layer; activate your CU layer and hit Delete on the keyboard.  Select>All, Select>Float, Select>Defloat, open new Raster layer below you CU layer and flood fill the selection with a solid color of your choice (I used white).
Activate your CU layer again and apply Xero Porcelain with these settings

reduce opacity to 92%

Banner: resize 115%, erase the string on the left balloon (don’t worry about the right one, it will be covered by your main tube).

With your text tool, I used the font “Swatch it” and size 7; with these settings
*note the value under Leading is 0.150*

Set your Background color to #c1dc91 and your Foreground to transparent, type out Happy Easter, Convert to Raster and Duplicate.  On your 1st text layer, apply Gradient Glow with this color #87bd4d and these settings

On your 2nd text layer, apply a drop shadow with these settings

Merge this layer down with the 1st layer, position over balloon to your left,
Duplicate, position the duplicate text over the other balloon.  Merge your Happy Easter layers down onto your balloons.

Basket: c&p, resize 75% and move to left of the banner

Text3: c&p, resize 90%, position over banner, duplicate, lock these 2 layers together, activate the 1st Cute Bunny layer and apply Gradient Glow, under the color tab, choose fat, and under the Basic Tab, use these settings

Flower2: resize 75%, Duplicate and resize again 75%, Duplicate, position and arrange the flowers to your liking.

curly ribbon: resize 75%, Desaturate: Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Hue/Saturation/Lightness

Position at bottom of balloon on the left.  Using your Manual Color Correction tool, change Source to #626262 and Target to #c4346d, click OK.  Duplicate and arrange the 2nd ribbon layer behind and below the frame3 layer and move it down so that it hangs down below the tube and over the banner.

Bow5: c&p, resize 50%, position at bottom of balloon above the ribbon layer, duplicate, arrange the duplicate layer below your tube layer and position at the bottom of the other balloon.

I added the Sparkle Sheet over this layer and just erased some of it that I didn’t want on her body or face on the CU
Butterfly: c&p, resize 75%, rotate 25o left

 Open your mask and minimize

Activate your Background layer, open New Raster Layer, flood fill with a color of your choice and apply your mask: right click on your layer and scroll up to New Mask Layer>From Image and choose your mask from the drop down menu

Name:  I used Aphrodite Pro, rotate 15o to the left, convert to raster and duplicate. Activate your first name layer and apply Gradient Glow with the same settings as you used for Text3

Add the artist’s copyright info and your license number
(FYI: I always try to place this in an area so that it can not be cut out or altered without being obvious)

Add Drop Shadows to your liking and, if you are going to animate anything that you are adding a drop shadow to, make sure that you check the box Shadow on new layer, before you add the animation.

If you are not going to animate anything, crop and resize to your liking, delete the white background, merge visible and save a .png
If you want to save this image as a WWO, keep the name as a vector and do not animate it with the rest of the image and save as a .psp

Animation

If you want to save this image as a WWO, keep the name as a vector and do not animate it or include the background or drop shadows with the rest of the image, when merging, and save as a .psp

Assuming that you followed the other tut and made the tail wiggle, we will be working with layers in groups of 4.

You will want to merge together all of your non-animated layers between your layers that you are animating, including your drop shadows.

We are animating the Circle Background, Oval Background, Sparkle Sheet, Cute Bunny Background, Butterfly and 2nd layer of the Name (you will want to merge down your 1st name layer and drop shadows, if you have them, on to the 2nd Cute Bunny layer.  Your Layers Palette should now look like this

Duplicate all of your single layers 3X (not including your main tube, which you should already have 4 layers of) so that you have 4 layers of every group

Activate your 1st Circle Background layer and apply Bright Noise with these settings

Click on Mix 2X for your 2nd, 3rd and 4th layers

Activate your 1st Oval Background layer and repeat the same steps as above

Jump up to your 1st name layer (which is your 2nd layer that stands alone) and repeat the above steps on the name layers.

Activate your 1st Cute Bunny Background layer and apply Constellation with these settings

Click on Random Seed for your 2nd, 3rd and 4th layers

Activate your 1st Butterfly layer and, using your Magic Wand with these settings

Select the parts of the Butterfly that you want to add Constellation to
(mine looked like this)

Apply Constellation with these settings

Click on Random Seed for your 2nd, 3rd and 4th layers
Select>None

Make visible only the 1st layer of each group, activate your visible background layer, right click and Merge Visible.  Make this layer invisible and repeat the same steps for your 2nd, 3rd and 4th layers.  Make Visible All.  Crop and resize.
Save as .psd and open it in Animation Shop 3 or you may copy the 1st layer and Paste As New Animation in Animation Shop3, copy your 2nd layer and Paste After Current Frame, do the same with your remaining 3rd and 4th layers.
Select All (Ctrl+A), Frame Properties (Alt+Enter)=13, Optimize (Shift+Z)

I hope you got through this faster than it took me to write it…lol
