Cupid Tut (PTU)

Cupid Tut

This Dzyn was inspired by one of my Divas, Mummy-Bear69

I wrote this tutorial with PSPX2 and Animation Shop 3 (and 2 fighting kids and 3 fighting dogs)

I am using the awesome artwork of Keith Garvey.  You must have a license to use his work.  You can purchase his art and obtain your license at PTE

I am using another gorgeous kit called Garvey’s Cupid from Tamie (can you tell I’m addicted to her kits? LOL) you can purchase the kit at Dreams-N-Digital

Plugins Used:
Eye Candy 4000 / Gradient Glow
Alien Skin Xenofex 2 / Constellation
Tramages / Tow The Line
DSB Flux / Bright Noise
Xero / Radiance & Porcelain

Font: Curlz MT

c&p= Copy and Paste As New Layer

New image 900X900 flood, fill white
Open tube pack, c&p both tubes, move your main tube to the left and your CU, mirror and make layer invisible for now
Activate your bottom layer
Glitter: c&p, resize115%, Drop Shadow with these settings and color #d17997

Set 4 guides:  193 and 705 horizontally and vertically (you should have a square now).  Click on View scroll down and select Snap To Guides
Using your vector tool on circle, start at one corner and drag down to opposite corner to make a large circle inside the text, convert to raster and delete guides
Using your Magic Wand, click on the transparent area outside of your circle.  Open paper of choice (I used p10), c&p and hit delete.
Activate your circle layer again, Select> All, Select >Float, Select> Defloat, Select >Modify, scroll down to Select Selection Borders and set at these settings

Activate your paper layer, open new raster layer and fill your selection with a color of your choice, add DSB Flux set at 60 and Mix, Select None

Open Text2 from your kit: c&p, Manual Color Corrector Source #de4157 Target #ae1e32.  Add Gradient Glow, select Fat under the Color tab, click back on your Basic tab and change to these settings

Drop shadow

Open frame from your kit: Using your Magic Wand, click inside your frame expand by 10 (Selections>Modify>Expand), open new raster layer below your frame layer and flood fill your selection with a color of your choice, I used #c10e15
(this is your heart frame background) DO NOT Select None
Apply Tramages> Tow The Line with these settings…

DO NOT Select None

Make visible CU: arrange the layer right above the layer that you just finished and position to your liking within the frame, hit delete, NOW Select None;) Reduce Opacity to 60%, Duplicate. On duplicate layer, apply Xero>Radiance with default settings, Xero>Porcelain with these settings

I also applied Porcelain to my main tube, using these same settings

From your kit:
Berries and bow: c&p, position behind main tube

Box: c&p, resize 50% position by feet

Swirl Hearts: c&p, above Text2 layer

Hearts 3: c&p, resize 75%

Netting: c&p, resize 115%, rotate 15%, arrange layer just above your circle frame
Heart with wings: c&p, resize 80%, rotate 15o left

Ribbon: c&p above heart swirl, position to liking

Petals:  c&p, position just to right below heart frame background

Roses: c&p, rotate resize 80%, 35o right, Grab your Magic Wand Mode: Add, Match Mode: Color, Tolerance: 30, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0 Anti-alias checked and Outside in your last box.  Select all of the red in your roses, Desaturate: Adjust> Hue and Saturation>Hue/Saturation/Lightness and slide your Saturation bar down to -100, click OK. Use your Manual Color Changer with Source color #797979 and Target color #ae1e32, Select None, arrange this layer below your Heart with wings layer

Activate your top layer, grab your Text Tool and add name, rotate 15o to the left, position over the heart with wings

Add your copyright and license number

Add Drop Shadows to your liking

Crop and resize your liking (if you are going to animate your heart frame, do not resize yet)

If you don’t want to animate your heart frame, you can delete the white background layer, merge visible and save as a .png

If you want to save it as a WWO, make your name vector invisible, merge visible and save as a .psp

Heart frame animation: Grab your Magic Wand and change the Match Mode to Brightness and Tolerance to 10, select the diamonds that are showing, Duplicate that layer 2X, add Constellation to each layer with these settings

Remember to click on Random Seed for your second and third layers.

Make all the layers below your heart frames Visible, Merge Visible, Duplicate2X

Make all the layers above your heart frames Visible (don’t include the name vector if you are saving this as a WWO), Merge Visible, Duplicate2X

Now we have 3 groups of 3.
From the bottom up, I refer to the layers in each group as first, second and third.

Make Visible Only the first layer of each group, activate the first visible layer (the bottom layer) and Merge Visible.  Now, make this layer invisible. Repeat these steps for the 2nd and 3rd layers of each group and now we have 3 merged layers (and your name vector, if this is a WWO)
Resize to your liking
Save as a .psp

Animation Shop 3

I also save my image without the name vector as a .psd (you can save as .psp(Animation Shop)...I just don't) and open it in Animation Shop3.  Select All (Ctrl+A), Frame Properties (Alt+Enter) change to 13 and click OK.  Keep all frames selected still

Back in PSP, I copy the name and Paste As A New Animation (Ctrl+V) in Animation Shop3, Duplicate (Ctrl+L) 2X so that you have 3 layers of the name.  Select All (Ctrl+A), Copy (Ctrl+C), Close the name.
Edit>Paste>Into Selected Frame (Ctrl+E), position the name in the heart and left click.

Optimize (Shift+Z) and save
